THE RISK OF NOT INCLUDING INVOICE AND PACKING LIST WHEN PROCESSING YOUR SHIPMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER


An invoice provides a detailed account of the products or service and a set of other information. It can vary a bit depending on the requirements in the country the invoice is issued and the type of product or service being sold. While a packing list is a document which details the contents, quantities, carton count of the shipped product, and often dimensions and weight, of each package or container. It serves to inform all parties involved with shipping, including transport agencies, government authorities, and customers, about the contents of the package. It also helps them deal with the package accordingly.
                                                                                                      


The risk of not including invoice and packing list when processing your shipment for international transfer is so enormous and can lead to great loss. They include but not limited to:

  • ·  When packing list and invoice is not included, you suffer the risk of your shipment being mishandled. This is because with packing list and invoice comes the knowledge of how well to handle the shipment. But when they are absent, there is room for your package to be mishandled.
  • ·    Without invoice the track record of what the buyer paid for is not kept. As such, the buyer can suffer the risk of not getting what was paid for.
  • ·   Without packing list lost cargo cannot be identified as packing list gives the quantity of the cargo. The risk of lost cargo can be suffered when packing list is not included in a shipment.
  • ·      Invoice is usually needed to process Marine Insurance. Without it, marine insurance would not be process. Risk of not getting insurance for your cargo can occur when packing list and invoice is not included when processing your shipment for international transfer.
  • ·       Without invoice, payment of goods cannot be authenticated.
  • ·    Invoice is needed to process import or export with one or more regulatory or government agency. Without it, you suffer the risk of not being able to process your import or export.

When invoice and or packing list in not included in your shipment when processing for international transfer you are prone to suffering lost of goods, delivery of goods to wrong address, mishandling or mismanagement of goods, among many other losses. This is why packing list and invoice should always be included in your shipment when it is being transferred internationally.
